Confirmation

Confirmation at Central Lutheran Meets September through May for 6-8th grades and the Rite of Confirmation takes place on the second Sunday in October of their 9th grade year.

2023-2024 school year

Fall orientation meeting for all 6th-8th grade confirmation students and parents - Wed. August 23rd 6:30pm

First Wednesday of the Month

5:30 pm - Worship that Introduces the Theme of the Month. With time after worship for confirmation students to meet with their mentors in the building.

Second Wednesday of the Month

2 Class Lesson Choices:

4:30-5:30pm  or  5:30-6:30pm

Third Wednesday of the Month

Middle School Youth Group 5:30-7pm in the Youth Lounge - a time for middle schoolers to gather together for fun and fellowship

Fourth Wednesday of the Month

Youth Service Project Night 5:30-7pm - this is open to students in 6th-12th grade

Mentorship:

7th and 8th Grade youth will select an adult that they are not related to be their mentor for the year. They may have the same mentor both years, but they need to re-ask that person every year as well. Mentors and students will meet once a month, there is time after Wednesday worship for students and mentors to meet in the building to go over their lesson. The students will have a mentorship booklet that the two of them will work through, one topic for each month. During Lent, when there are no classes, the youth are expected to attend Mid-week services and there will be a reading guide related to a certain part of the Bible that the youth and their mentors will discuss at the Lenten dinners. The youth and their mentors will also do two fellowship events and one service project together every year.

Confirmation Sunday

Students will go through the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation Service) on the Second Sunday of October at 11:00 am the fall of their 9th Grade year. Prior to that they will work with their mentor to write their own Faith Statements which will be shared with the congregation that day.

In 2023 the Confirmation Service will take place on October 8th at 11:00 am. There will be a rehearsal on Saturday, October 7th at 10:00 am.
